Midnight Anger :)

Stay Angry, Stay in Love ;)

I am angry when you miss my call
I am angry when you meet a girl
I am angry when you refuse a ball
I am angry when love doesn't make you twirl

I am angry that you know me bare
I am angry when you still mock my tears
I am angry when past brings fear
I am angry because I want you near

I am angry because you don't really know why I am so
I am angry because our LOVE I don't want to blow
I am angry as you always have grievance
I am angry that you can't hear my silence

I act angry just to talk a few minutes more
I am angry that you don't see how it's fake
I am angry because I love you to the core
Sweetheart, I am angry for our sake

Now,
I am angry that even these inspired words lack a pattern
I am angry that I miss you
I am angry because even two minutes less turns me blue
But most of all,
I am angry that I  can never stay angry at you.

Cocktail

Glad I saved 250 rupees on watching 'Cocktail'. Instead the money can come handy in buying two pairs of chappals from Kamla Nagar to rain on the scriptwriter.

So  Meera is a true Indian girl who instead of reporting to the police about her pest husband, starts camping in a stranger’s house. Hello?

Accepted that bimbo girls laugh at PJ’s a lot but how can she giggle at Gautam’s poop like pickup lines which can wake me up even from death. Just to slap him right across his face.

While it takes her potentially HIV infected lover one half of a song to fall in love and out of lust, our Bhartiya Naari is entangled in love in 2 minutes. What is she?  Maggi noodles?

Saif should have ideally played father/uncle to the pretty girl and her anorexic Brutus but Alas!

Funny she came to London in salwar kurti with pink clutcher being highlighted like ugly pimples and then landed in India in trendy jeans. Haha! Whom are you fooling Mr. Writer!

Deepika needs to read the script beyond her role because Saif, Diana and pathetic story totally let the movie down even though she stood out.

“I am a rich bitch” and “Whatever is in the house is on the house” are the only two killer dialogues. Rest  all are  an assault to the sensibility!

Btw, Can anyone explain the following line in “Tumhi ho Bandhu” song.

“Tu hai jaisa mujhko waisa
Dikhna.. dikhna”

Excuse me? What? The girl wants to look manly also now on top of her anorexic, anemic stature! ?

PaaniPuri!

What is it with Panipuri and my loyalty towards my favorite street food?

As Chaats, Maha Lactos, Bhelpuris, Golas were  getting cornered by pizzas, burgers, Ferrero Rochers in my life, all GolGappa could manage was a less funny name-“PaniPuri.”

I was a champion at “1 Re, 2 Golgappas-Eat as much as you can” competitions. Alas! That was the only  trophy I feared flashing at Mom’s face. Trying to disgust each other by describing the imaginary/real wound on the thelawala’s hands and then outrunning everybody on the 1st clink of his bells. Those were the spicy, naughty days… Btw, Naughty mumblings that tummy had to deal with afterwards is a different story altogether. As always. ;)

Then Delhi gave way to many changes and complimentary Paani.<*tears of joy and extra mirch!*>. It didn’t take long before my “what-a-cheapo!” gaze soon turned towards myself saying “What-a-dumbo” who doesn’t ask for her birth right. Her complimentary dirty green paani. Those hot sunny days when every molecule of the body threatened to evaporate, ice cold Singla paanipuri kept my sanity together.  Delhi’s paanipuri has surely won my dil forever.

Bangalore is my nest now and thankfully, paanipuri stalls are sprinkled across the city. My daily 10 rupees therapy with delicious ‘puchkas’ and the complimentary “sookha” which has rotten chanas without fail, yet I have never buzzed without claiming it. Victory! ;)

Rates have changed but my little ball of surprise is still a spicy, tangy, non sweet Salsa for my tastebuds. I say ‘surprise’ because filthier the place, tastier the puchkas. ;) I have spent 4 years in Goa and panipuri followed me there also in the nooks and crannys where even hutch dog couldn’t claim to.

Paanipuri is indeed my favorite food and favorite drink. Depends if I am in delhi for the complimentary drink or in Bangalore for those extra puris. ;)

Ek Tha Tiger!

I went into the movie with a pre conceived notion that I will be opening with “Ek Tha Salman” for dishing out the same over spicy formula and being predictable. I was not wrong. But I was not right also!

Ek Tha Tiger is like Salman Khan’s signature recipie and it turned out pretty entertaining. I will go through the moments that stood out for me intentionally or otherwise.

Comedy:

50 year old RAW spy, ‘Tiger’ returns home after a mission to an epidemic of women saying things like “Wo Aa Gaya!” in a slutty tone. All this while, Tiger uses all his mind power to concentrate on milk being poured into his vessel. Seriously?!! :D

Tiger goes on a mission and meets Zoya(Katrina) and delivers a series of must watch funny PJs. After falling in love, he starts feeling  that his macho nickname given by RAW is actually a dog’s pet name. You may actually feel like singing  “Ban Gaya Kutta” from “Pyaar ka punchnama”  right on his face once he says that. :D

Shy spy turns into a nice lover boy and almost gets kissed before Zoya runs away as if he had bad breath!

‘Tiger’ has the agility of a squirrel, strength of an elephant but the IQ of a donkey compared to lizard-like- fast Zoya who outwits or rather ‘outspies’ him on many occasions.

RAW agents show similar traits to our Indian police in reaching late and are infact shamefully beaten upto the crime scene by Pakistan’s  ISI! Tcchhh!!

To watch out for:

Tiger’s immunity to gravity in the awesome action sequences.

Zoya’s action sequences are to die for. One of the best efforts by an Indian actress.

Hey Ladies! Katrina’s clothes are too pretty and wearable! Watch carefully so that your hawk eyes don’t miss out on similar pieces. Katrina’s  manages to pull off her getup as a Pakistani diplomat with gusto. Her clothing has stark resemblance(intentional?) to the actual stylish politician from Pak, Ms. Hina Rabbani Khar.

Cuba :* Havana looks too awesome in the movie and is now on my wishlist of “Places to visit”. Even Istanbul looks great. The cinematography is surely very good.

The only good song of the movie, “Mashallah” if you ignore ‘Tiger’ jumping around like an uncomfortable monkey. Katrina dances too well and looks great in the song.

Ranvir Shorey in his very smart and witty role of a co spy. \m/

Wtf fact

Why did not Zoya date her more handsome and younger  co-spy from the same company & nationality !

It is surely a movie worth watching once. All in all, an entertaining timepass. :)

FOODiepedia

FoodStop: Golkonda chimney

Well, it is Marthahalli’s Leela palace, Taj Vivanta, Hyatt and everything. A small area has been cleverly utilized to provide 3 varieties of seating arrangement. Normal arrangement on the ground floor in dingy light, bright area on top for families and my favorite  open air area adjacent to it where pretty candle shimmers on the table and stars in the sky. The place is frequented by chicken lovers often.

Foodissection

Food is yummy! We find more options than the usual lollipop, chilly chicken and kebabs in starters as well as main course. Amazing chicken dishes with fancy names tempt more than the usual. Price is as good as the quality. A normal chicken item costs around Rs 180.
Funnily, bringing the bill takes more time than bringing the dishes.

Shining stars: Chimney Kebab, Chicken Chatpat, Mint Roti.

Tip: Carry your own water if possible. Mineral water is for 45 damn bucks.

FoodStop: Meghana Foods, M G Road

The place is simple, bright and clean with real banana leaves as plate and own hands as spoon J. Generally, it is hoarded by decent people with serious love for good food.

Foodissection

The biryanis here are amazingly magnetic to our tastebuds. The staff is friendly and their recommendations are worth ordering. So, relax your brain, loosen the buttons, wash hands and get mesmerized in one of the precious gifts of Hyderabad.
Food is reasonably priced with biryanis priced around Rs 160. One bowl is enough for 2 not-so-hungry souls.
If food comes fast, bill comes faster. It gets a lil annoying when the bill is brought even before the food finishes.

Shining stars: Meghana Special Biryani, Present day’s special starter.

FoodStop: Chandni Chowk, Kormangala

If Chandni Chowk is anywhere on earth, it is not just in Delhi. A part of it glitters in the heart of Bangalore as well. Located at a 5 minute walkable distance from Oasis mall, its first glimpse reminds of a happy wedding party with string of tiny bulbs adorning the entire building. Lucky ones like me may get to enter into a beautiful bollywood like setup with booming live dhol and Punjabi music setting up the mood.
The classy granite has been ditched for pebbles on the floor. The menu card is a unique silk dhapli. Walls are ethnic and curtains are shiny sitaaras. You admire and eat on the faces of bollywood divas simultaneously who pose on the wall as well as the table mats :D
The place screams “Happy Punjabi Happy Punjabi” with its infectious loudness in decoration, filmy music and periodic bursts of dhol.

 Foodissection

Food is brand Punjabi. The hidden Punjabi foodster awakens amidst traditional varieties of chicken. Having Lassi is not a choice, it is a compulsion thanks to its awesomeness.

Shining stars: ta ta ta ta tandoori nights for starters and go gaga over Rara chicken for main course.
Everybody grows a sweet tooth by default after licking chicken off their plate.

Tip: Control your emotions while ordering or next day some may see loose motions.

It is one of those weird places where food comes first, cutlery comes second and plates come last. The place needs a makeover even more than Sonakshi  Sinha’s forehead. The walls are old and scratched and 6th sense screams that tables are unclean. String with broken egg shells around each bulb is simply tacky. The only innovation in the miserly setup ambience is probably the blackboards with some deadly PJs scribbled on them.
Eggxample: URINE: Opposite of  You are out!!

Foodissection

Egg Factory is surely worth a visit. But just one visit. Some of the dishes are actually very good and new. Do enquire about the curry of dishes with hi-fi names. Dishes in tomato curry are sweeter than they should be.
All in all, Food is heavy, not the cost. Most expensive dish is for Rs 145.

Shining stars: Pink Lady, Roasted Chillies Frittata, Pasts Al Burj, Choco Sin :*

Tip: The eggy dishes may disappoint incase you go with too much eggspectation. Also, original French toast is actually sweet. Avoid drinking in their egg kissed glasses.

My tiny lil joys in Bangalore *-*

So, finally I have settled down in my new nest and with every passing day, I and Bangalore are getting to know each other, eating and swinging.

I say eating because besides being an IT hub, it’s an awesome food land. Bangalore is sprinkled with eating joints every 10 steps and all I can say is “I’m loving it!”. I am discovering this city through its food and may be its my primary source of motivation to avert inertia on weekends.

But swinging in bus at every possible angle, twice a day breaks my soul and body. Listening to the weird kannada songs every morning while some Aunty standing like Sholay's‘Viru’ starts using me as an armrest, it all auto forwards me into an intellectual introspection mode.

Still, everyday there are numerous tiny sparks which can make my hour of the day.I will share a few random ones:

*Strategically waking up at a time when some ‘flabmate’ of mine has already made breakfast for me.

*Knowing the answer to the toughest question in this world-“What am I gonna wear today!”

*Taking less than 10 minutes to cross the road.

*Hovering over the head of an angel who will be vacating her seat just 2 stops later.

*Seeing the 1st sign of motion in that 1 hour routine traffic jam.

*Escaping my manager’s eyes till the time I sink in my chair and pretend to have been there for hours when I am actually late(usually)

*Catching my team’s attention if I am ever on time.

*Getting free food.

*Getting a chance to lay my hands on the foosball table.

*Playing Table Tennis like Saina Nehwal instead of Virendar Sehwag

*Finding bugs in Bugzilla

*Reliving a non spicy episode of Saas-Bahu serial with my flabmates!

*Sleeping on a high laughter note after talking to my favorite people. Even I want them to be taller, stronger and sharper and I take care of the first part atleast by pulling their leg well.

All we need to remember is:
“It’s a new day. It’s a new life.  Embrace it and you shall survive =)”
